- Remove soil mounds from bushes.
- Replace shrubs killed or heavily damaged over the winter.
- Cut back dead canes to live buds.

- To reduce thatch, rake dead grass and debris with a stiff rake (before first mowing).
- Begin mowing lawn as needed.
